Forgiveness of self

 

 

Forgiveness is a very important part of healing and moving forward.

 

Sometimes we forget that we must also forgive ourselves. We have experienced times of hurt and deep down think things like, “How could I have been so stupid or blind”, “If only I would have…”,  or “Why didn’t I …”.

 

I believe everything happens for a reason and it always happens to teach, learn and grow. The good, the bad, the ugly, it is all the same! The only differences between these are how we see them and how we react to them.

 

Every person, place or thing has been plan in your chart to move you down your path and to aid you in doing what you came down here to do. Blaming yourself or others only delays your own happiness and experience life the way it was meant to be experienced, with joy!

 

The below exercise will aid you in the self-forgiveness and allow you to move forward:

 

Mirror exercise:

 

This exercise is to be done in the morning after your grounding exercise and in the evening before going to bed for at least 5 minutes each time.

 

In front of a mirror:

 

1.     Take 3 deep breathes.

2.     Look yourself directly in the eyes.

3.     In a confident and loving voice say, “I love and accept myself just as I am” for 5 minutes. Make sure to keep eye contact with yourself.

4.     Do a quick grounding after finishing this exercise.

 

Yes, this will be hard at first, but keep it up. It will get easier as you truly begin to forgive yourself and allow yourself to receive self-love.

 

Once you can do this and feel happy in doing it then you have truly forgiven yourself and now can move forward, bringing all the good to you that you deserve.
